Conservation

Continued expansion of the residential population will increase the burden on the water system. Although the water system is currently undergoing a significant upgrade in storage capacity, reliability, and distribution capability, it is still possible that we may experience shortages when droughts, significant leaks, engineering problems, or wastage occur.

It is imperative that all HKUI customers recognize the dependence of our water system on natural sources that lie beyond the control of HKUI. All customers are strongly encouraged to conserve our water.

In times of drought or low pressure, residents may be asked to limit or refrain from water-intensive uses such as lawn watering, car washing, and filling swimming pools. Notices will be posted at the entrance to High Knob when such conditions occur.
